Asian Shares Rise Post-Fed; Techs, Financials Lift
Asian markets and overnite futures activity point to a barely higher opening with the DOW reading an estimated 13-odd point gain. Earlier on, Asia looked encouraged by the FED announcement but Euro-traders seem significantly more circumspect because - well, they're Europeans, after all...
Bernanke set to be GRILLED by Congress over potential improprieties related to the B of A deal - that should really be fun for FED critics such as - well - MOI!

SINGAPORE (MarketWatch) -- Asian share markets shrugged off a mixed lead from Wall Street to post some solid gains Thursday, with technology shares supporting in Tokyo and Seoul.
The much-awaited Federal Reserve statement turned out to be fairly benign, offering little clue as to when the Fed might end its low interest rates regime, though some analysts pointed to slightly more upbeat commentary on the U.S. economic outlook.
At the same time analysts were cautious about Asia's gains. "I think it (cash) will wait for another quarter or so before it really makes its way back into the market," said UBS head of sales trading, George Kanaan.
Japan's Nikkei 225 was up 1.6% with Australia's S&P/ASX 200 up 0.5%, Korea's Kospi Composite up 2.2% and New Zealand's NZX-50 0.4% higher.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was 1.2% higher. Taiwan shares were up 1.1%, adding to sharp gains made on Wednesday on hopes for closer financial sector cooperation with China.
