Bonds cautious anticipating supply
NEW YORK -- Prices of Treasurys were lower on Tuesday morning as the government kicks off this week's $65 billion note and bond supply.
The long end led the decline, extending a slide from Monday, as investors pushed up bond yields for concessions to underwrite the new supply of debt. The first auction is $35 billion in three-year notes scheduled at 1 p.m. EDT Tuesday, followed by $19 billion in a reopening 10-year note Wednesday and $11 billion in a reopening 30-year bond Thursday.
