Oil & Gold & SILVER tomorrow
Commodities continuing to defy gravity today. oil at a 30-month high. it's off the high of the session still at 108.67. gold charging higher at a record level of 1456.70. silver now at 31-year highs. only the dollar is hurting so far today. let's get to sharon epperson of the anyway mention with the latest. commodities strong and traders paying attention to currencies. that's part of the reason we are looking at higher prices for oil, gold and silver. look what happened to the euro because it crossed the 1.43 level. the weakness in the dollar also a major factor. a lot of central banks moving to alternate currencies. that's something a lot of folks are focusing on. we are looking at the crb index, the broad global benchmark for commodities driven higher by the price of oil which wti crossing 109 today. brent above 123 at one point and also gold and silver, quite strong as well. when you look at gold prices, gold trading in the pit on the nymex floor hit a high of 1467 an ounce. on globex, a nominal all time high for gold. silver on a tear, closing in on $40 an ounce. lots of folks say the industrial demand for silver is a reason we have seen it outperforming gold. others say perhaps it's just retail investor demand and there is plenty of physical supply out there. we're continuing to watch commodities though. mandy? thank you very much, sharon....
