Gold Rallies on Strong Physical Demand
A "contretemps" of sorts between this Epperson report
and that of Art Cashin below it.
I happen to fall into the "deflation fears" category and have ever since
I came to believe bankers are sitting on non-performing loans and the
shadow real-estate inventories they represent rather than either fess up
and dump on an already depressed market or (worse)
avoid having to declare the totality of losses thus affecting
quarterly earnings and (surprise, surprise) their bonuses.
This is what Japanese Zaibatsu bankers did after the Tokyo R/E bubble
burst and what subsequently caused the ensuing nearly two decade
deflationary spiral.
Their new PM is only NOW trying to combat it by depressing the yen
causing our own FED and Treasury to emit squeals of pain for
doing exactly what THEY (our people) have been doing for half
a decade now.
Is it any wonder we've lost whatever moral authority we have serially
enjoyed since - well - since the Eisenhower Administration?
in yet ANOTHER 'housekeeping' note:
still experiencing intermittent glitches in the display of individual video
commentaries
we've spot-checked the embedding code here as well
as the continuing availability of the original source data
overnight last night even re-entered one report from CNBC in hopes the code
itself contained errors which escaped my perusal due to my "ocular challenges"..
also used a Bloomberg replacement on one entry which resulted
in similar contrariness leading me to suspect responsibility lies with BlogSpot.
