NOTICE: Though the textual intro to the below video showcases Art Cashin's recapitulation of Janet Yellin's remarks, today, in reality it's a pretty apt interview of an apparently Aussie Divisional Commodities CEO who (though totally unfamiliar to me) seems to know his business every bit as well as any of us and probably better than a few (who shall remain nameless lest anybody take offense and begin following my rumbling ramblings, discovering to universal surprise that I have no IDEA what I'm saying yet I still enjoy a respectable accuracy quotient thus confirming the "random walk" theories of a good sized chunk of analysts who manage to avoid the pitfalls which really beFELL Dennis Gartner last year..... pulling off their counter-intuitive miracle(s) thru the application of cogent, disciplined and consistent money management techniques). (whew - I love run-on sentences - they make me feel so.... HUMAN).. ANYWAY - 'cuz Cashin's comments include a hyperlink to more background, and Greg Smith's comments seemed surprisingly logical for someone who's toilette flushes the wrong way 'round, I'm leaving them both in tonight. After Yellen concluded her appearance, Cashin, (UBS' director NYSE floor ops) told CNBC's Bob Pisani, "She said, 'Yes, certainly, the weather is evident but none of us know, yet, whether it's having an impact.' She said, 'We will continue to taper,' but left the door open very slightly saying that if the data continues to deteriorate that they might reconsider and taper the tapering, which gave the bond market a little sigh of relief."
